She was born in Longview Texas to Floyd and Iva Dee Wood. She graduated from Odessa High School and attended and received a degree at Draughon’s Practical Business School. Rosemary was married to Walter Johnson on April 20, 1956 and they remained together until Walter passed away March 4, 2007.
Rosemary was very active in the Bulverde community for almost 40 years. She was a founding member of the First Baptist Church of Bulverde, worked countless hours at In-Touch and was very active with the Bulverde Senior Center. She worked with the Comal County Extension Office and the Sheriff’s department. Her dedication to helping others was endless. She also enjoyed raising all kinds of animals and always had a garden growing. She loved her plants and flowers. She was always working on different crafts and when she took up wood carving she produced some great pieces that her children and grandchildren will cherish always.
She was kind and faithful to all who had the honor of calling her a friend.
Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, and great grand-mother who took much joy from any time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving Rosemary.
She was survived by her daughter Iva Jane Daughtrey and husband John, daughter Vivian Johnson, and son Allen Johnson and wife Rae; five grandchildren, Mindy and husband JJ, Chris and wife Lizz, Jana, Timothy, and Bryan and five great grandchildren, Alexandra, Sarrah, Austin, Linda and Natalie.
A celebration of her life will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels Texas on July 3 with visitation at 6:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside arrangements are pending.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Rosemary’s name to your local Hospice program.
