Joyce Jackson McClure entered eternal rest on the 18th of April, 2010 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 23 days. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born April 26, 1919 to Sam and Eula Jackson in Mission, Texas.
Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence McClure; parents; Sam and Eula Jackson, sister, Alice Jackson; and 3 brothers: Lawrence J. Jackson, Charles E. Jackson, and Col. Arthur Jackson, Ret'd.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mabie Kaler and husband Fred of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Dawn Schuenemann and husband Curtis of Kingsville, TX; granddaughter Robin McIver and husband Mike of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Kevin W. Kaler of Driscoll, TX; great grandchildren Sarah and Aaron Schuenemann of Kingsville, TX; great grandsons Zachary and Jackson McIver of San Antonio, TX; and numerous neices and nephews . She is also survived by three brothers: Sam, Luther and Howard Jackson.
Mrs. McClure lived in Corpus Christi for many years where she worked at Comal Cottons Fabric Store. She and her husband moved to Schroeder, TX where they planned to retire but later moved to Kingsville, TX. After twenty-one years, Joyce moved to New Braunfels, TX where she enjoyed the location and beauty of nature until her death. Her devotion to her family remained her top priority. She was very interested and involved in her daughter's hobby of family genealogy. A great joy was to be with her complete family in July of 2000 when they gathered together in Rockport, TX for a reunion.
Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, TX from 10 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, April 21st, with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM. Interment alongside her husband and other family members will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero, TX.
