Joshua Martin Groenke, 44, peacefully departed this life of natural causes on Friday, December 13, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, in the company of his family. Josh was born a seventh generation Texan, his family are descendants of the first pioneers of Texas and founders of New Braunfels, Texas.
Josh is survived by his mother, Penelope Groenke of Poteet, Texas; his brother Jeffery Groenke of Fairbanks, Alaska; his beloved dog Buddy, five uncles, and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 1 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. At a later date, a graveside service will be conducted at the Groenke-Staudt Cemetery in Bulverde.
Arrangements are under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home. In remembrance of Josh, the family asks that a charitable donation to The Trevor Project [thetrevorproject.org] be made in his name in lieu of flowers.
