Growing up in Louisiana John worked offshore in the oilfield but spent most of his life in the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry. For many years he worked as an educational director teaching small engine schools on Briggs & Stratton engines. Once he moved his family from Louisiana to Texas in the summer of 1982, he worked in sales. He worked selling small engines, parts, and equipment. He cared for the dealership customers he had always saying that “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” He built many lifelong friendships and business relationships on this motto.
John also worked for the Comal County Sheriff's Office as a reserve officer patrolling the Canyon Lake and River Road areas.
He attended St. Thomas Catholic Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
He retired in 2005.
John married the love of his life Janet Kay on January 25,1964 and they were married for 41 years before her passing.
John’s biggest hobby was bass fishing. He loved fishing tournaments and spending all spare time on the water. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids grow up and play sports. He was a jokester and shared that with most he met.
