He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy June Newton. He was 'Pop" to three sons, Terry Newton, Billy Newton and wife Jenn Newton, Spencer Newton and wife Jennifer Newton. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James Noah Newton and wife Charlotte of Lubbock, Texas.
Jerry was born in Levelland Texas on May 13, 1947 to James William Newton and Billie LaNell Horner Newton. Jerry spent his whole life involved in many aspects of the community. He loved his church and lived his life well. He was President of The EMS Board. He fried catfish for the Canyon Lake Republican Women for 20 years. That started "Jerry Bob's Famous Fish Fry." Jerry spent 36 years in the Masonic Lodge #1425. He became Master of the Lodge from 1996-97. He sought the beauty in nature and found peace in the mountains. There was no road he wouldn't travel, just to see where it would go. Jerry was a man of few words with a giant heart. He spoke quietly and always meant his words. He loved and cherished his family fiercely.
