William "Bill" Miller

He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Glen O. and Blanche A. Miller (Schroer). Bill married Virginia H. “Ginny” Schulze on February 19, 1955 in Osgood, Ohio. They were married for 54 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Ginny Miller, a son Jim Miller and a brother Dick Miller.

Bill graduated in 1951 from Greenville High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy until 1956. Bill was a distinguished service executive with IBM for over 30 years. He and Ginny retired to New Bern and were active members of Blackbeard’s Sailing Club for many years. Bill volunteered with Craven County Meals on Wheels and Guardian Ad Litem.

Bill is survived by his daughter Janine Taylor (George) of Venice, FL, his son Michael Miller (Mary) of Raleigh, two sisters, Joanne Behymer (Lynn) of Carlsbad, CA, and Christine Clutter of Dayton, OH, his brother Tom Miller of Normal, IL, sisters in-law Geneva Miller of Richmond, ID, . He is also survived by four grandchildren, Justin and Katy Darr and Taylor and Casey Miller.

His service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2017 at Cotten Funeral Home with Father Michael Schuetz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to his caregiver Katina Doye and all of his hospice nurses.
