Wayne was a talented master carpenter and painter who worked very hard to provide for his family. He loved collecting unusual antiques, including coins and spoons. Wayne had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh and pulling pranks. He was an advocate for recovery and he helped many people find freedom in recovery.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Christie Frizzelle Chandler; three daughters, Hannah Chandler, Carol Chandler, and Emmalee Chandler; close family friend, Jordan Goodrich; brothers, David Chandler, Mike Chandler, and John Chandler; sisters, Linda Chandler, Crystal Caines and Georgia K. Espino; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his beloved pets, Gracie, Benji, and Cody.
Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father, James Chandler; mother, JoAnn Mercer; brother, Jimmy Chandler; and sister, Carol Ann Chandler.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 10th at Ft. Barnwell Baptist Church, 9335 HWY 55 West, Dover, NC 28526.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family by directing them to Cotten Funeral Home.
