Vivian Helen Casper, 71, of Cove City, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 28, 2011. Born on January 14, 1940, Vivian lived her entire life in Cove City.
She had a great love for her family, her community and her church family. A devoted and faithful member of Cove City Missionary Baptist Church, Vivian held a special position as bell ringer for many years. Celebrated as one of her greatest accomplishments, she held a record of perfect Sunday School attendance for 67 years. Vivian was a very special person who impacted many lives with her loving and caring nature. A wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she was loved by all who knew her. Vivian was preceded in death by her loving parents, Chris and Helen Sutton Casper, two special brothers in-law, Archie Gaskins and Donald Willis and one special nephew, Archie Gaskins, Jr.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Rose Gaskins and Glenda Willis, both of Cove City; her brother, Charles Casper of Honolulu, special nieces and nephews, Judy Gaskins of Cove City; Debra Gaskins Grant and husband John of Snow Hill; Donald Willis, Jr. of New Bern; Rhonda Willis Hernandez and husband Jerry of Topeka, KS; Warren Casper and wife Christy of Smithfield; Bethany Casper Wray and husband Jimmy of Blounts Creek; special great nieces and nephews, Ashley Grant of Snow Hill; Andrew Willis of Kinston; Bryce and Josh Casper of Smithfield; Austin Wray of Blounts Creek; and a special friend, Kim Riggs of Cove City.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Cotten Chapel with Rev. Wayne Best officiating. Burial will follow in the Cove City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
