Robert "Bob" Arthur Murray, 88, of New Bern, passed away in his home on Saturday, October 26, 2024. He was born September 10, 1936, to the late Arthur Murray and Alice Cochran in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Bob proudly served in the Navy on the Joseph P. Kennedy. He came to New Bern in the late 1970s and founded his company Eastern Insulation Incorporated that served many counties in North Carolina. Bob was actively involved with many builders in the New Bern area and was a member of the New Bern Home Builders Association. Bob and Debbie were members of the Cape Lookout and Fort Macon Power Squadron. Bob also enjoyed his time in the Twin Rivers Shag Club.
Leaving behind to honor and cherish Bob's memories and legacy are his wife, Debbie Murray; children, Bonnie Howard, Robin Murray, Robert Murray, Jr, Roxane Becker (Gary), and Benjamin Murray; stepchildren, Jessica Harris (Keith) and Lindsey Mott; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rachel Howard.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors following the service. The family invites friends to attend a reception at 4:00 pm at The Carolina Colours Pavillion Tap Room.
