Polly Joyce Swindell

Born in Williamston, NC, Polly was the cherished daughter of Joyce Quinn and John Haywood Rogers, Jr., who preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Charles Neil Swindell; her children, Martin Gray Brinkley and Phyllis Brinkley Godwin (Robbie); and her siblings, Johnnie Martin Rogers and Melissa Aultman. Polly was also the proud grandmother of Lauren Gray Brinkley Godwin (Garett), Patrick Sean Godwin (Liz), Krystal Corinne “Kaycee” Godwin-Harris (Justin), and Amber Nicole Brinkley, who brought her immense joy. The family is also thankful for her special bond with her extended family, including her cousin Amelia Stewart, Aunt Mary Frances Bailey, and Aunt Joyce Rogers.

She was known for her radiant smile, warm laughter, and the ability to make everyone feel at ease. A creative spirit, she enjoyed traveling, crafting, and puzzles. She also enjoyed being a lifelong member of Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church.

Polly was an active member of her community, dedicating time to volunteer work and spreading kindness wherever she went. Her warmth and generosity left a mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Polly’s life will be held on Friday, December 20 at 11:00 am at Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church with a service officiated by Reverend John A. Robinson, Jr. followed by lunch at the church. The family requests any flowers please be delivered to the church at 10 am the day of the service.

Polly’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
