Juanita "Nita" Ling Gibbs, 82, of High Point, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, July 15, 2016. Nita was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Hospice of High Point, as well as a member of the High Point Moose Lodge and Life Member of V.F.W. Post 7315 in Havelock. All knew her as a loving, kind, and giving soul who was full of life and had a colorful personality that could light up any room.
Graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the New Bern National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Joseph Benjamin "J.B." Gibbs.
Nita is survived by her daughter, Starr Murphy (Greg) of Minnesott Beach; granddaughter, Jasmine Davis (Jason) of New Bern; and sister, Ann Ling of High Point. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Ling and Gene Ling; and sister, Wanda Eldridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the V.F.W. Post 7315, 120 Lynnwayne Circle, Havelock, NC 28532 or to Sudan Shriners, 403 East Front Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
