He is predeceased by his father, Elmo Jones; son, Jody Ray Mazzole; brother, David Jones.

Surviving is his wife, Nancy Wilson Jones; mother, Sadie Walker; step daughters, Lori Roberson Gray (James) of James City and Nancy “Libby” Jones (Willard) of New Bern; brother, Roger Jones (Odessa) of Vanceboro ; sisters, Kathy Jones of Jacksonville, Becky Akers (Jeff) of New York and Patsy Fisher (Jay) of CT; daughter-in-law, Deborah Mazzole; grandchildren, Jody Ray Mazzole Jr., Matt Saulter, Chris Saulter, Nathan Meadows, Jessie Jones, Abigail Jones and several Nieces and Nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Juniper Chapel FWB Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at Cotten Funeral Home.
