Greg married the love of his life, Beth, on Valentine's Day in 1982, after three months of dating. Together, they have raised two children, Christopher and Jessica. When the family moved to New Bern, they bought and operated together "New Bern Farm, Garden, and Landscape." Greg loved meeting everyone who came into the store, and he would gladly help them with any of their needs when it came to plants, feed, and merchandise. Greg was the patriarch of the family, and they will miss him greatly, especially his grandchildren who called him "Papaw." Greg achieved many things in life, but the most important achievements were his wife, children, and grandchildren.
To know Greg was to love him. He was always smiling and would often tell a story or joke, which would leave you laughing.
Leaving behind to honor his legacy are his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Mize; son, Christopher Mize and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Jessica Mize and husband, Joseph Cannon; grandchildren, Callie, Chloe, Vann, Noah, and Ellanor; mother, Linda Mize; constant companion, Teddy, his Goldendoodle; and many loving family members and close friends.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Howard Vann Mize; sister, Melissa Gale Mize; and brother, Todd Jeffrey Mize.
