George Mizell Henson, 49, died of heart failure at his home in Raleigh on Friday, January 6, 2023.
He is survived by his daughter Margaret Mizell Henson (Izzy), of Vancouver, WA; his parents, George and Emily Mizell Henson of New Bern and Canton, NC and his sisters and their families: Margaret Jane Henson Jennings and husband Mark Kingston Jennings, of Vancouver, WA and children Emily Elizabeth Jennings and William Kingston Jennings.
Martha Ann Henson Jordan and husband Richard Todd Jordan of Saint Simons Island, GA and children Grace Elizabeth Jordan and Martha Jane Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in George’s name to REI Cooperative Action Fund (reifund.org), a nonprofit that supports access to nature and outdoor spaces.
