Faye was born on October 31, 1944 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. Faye enjoyed attending her high school reunions and continued friendships with several high school friends.
Faye worked several years with Craven Soil and Water Conservation District. She was also employed in the cafeteria at West Craven Middle School and Trent Park Elementary School.
Faye loved to spend time at the beach and often went with her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and perform at school events. Faye took pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
Faye was a woman of faith and a member of First Baptist Church of New Bern, North Carolina for many years.
Faye leaves behind a family who loves her dearly. Her daughter, Tammy Lynn Cullom, of New Bern, North Carolina, her son, Ralph Scott Cullom, daughter-in-law, Daphne Bond Cullom, granddaughter, Ashley Caroline Cullom and grandson, Ralph Matthew Cullom, all of Washington, North Carolina.
They will all miss her dearly and have many fond memories of trips to the beach and family birthday celebrations.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Avery, of New Bern, North Carolina, her mother, Thelma Green Outland, aunt, Lucille Outland, uncle, Willie Outland all of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and uncle, Ray Outland, of Newport News, Virginia.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, North Carolina. A private service will be held for the family.
