Ernest William Parent, Sr.

Ernest William Parent, Sr., 78, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away at his home on, Sunday, February 27, 2022. Ernest was born on June 10, 1943 in Manchester, Connecticut to the late Edmound Parent, Sr. and Elmira LaMontagne Parent.

Ernest enjoyed his sons and grandchildren. He also enjoyed being the coach of the Twins in Tolland, CT. After High school he went into machining where he became a production control manager. Ernest changed careers to sales, selling for Kloter Farms of Ellington, CT. After moving to beautiful New Bern, NC, with his wife, Yvette, he became a member of St Paul Catholic church and an active fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ernest is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Yvette Parent, three sons; Ernest William Parent, Jr. of Rocky Hill, CT, David Mathew Parent of Glastonbury, CT, and Mathew Robert Parent and wife, Emily of Marshfield, MA, six grandchildren; Justin Ernest Parent and wife, Amber, Connor Parent, Ashley Parent, Jacob Parent, Sarah Parent, and Olivia Parent, sister, Elaina Letende and husband, Paul, three brothers; Earland Parent and wife, Dana, Edward Parent and wife, Sandy, and Eugene Parent and wife, Mary Anne, and special fury family members, Morgan and Marley.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by brother, Edmound Parent, Jr. and sister, Edwina Pierce.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fisher, nurses; Joy, Pat and Ashley for their care, comfort, support and compassion for Ernest and the family. They are deeply grateful.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church.
