Elizabeth Lupton Brinson, 71, of New Bern, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
She was an advocate for children with learning disabilities and played a vital role in getting the laws changed for them.
She was predeceased by her husband James A. Brinson, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter Julia Brinson Given (Brian) of Wake Forest her three sons James A. Brinson (Becky) of Chapel Hill, Benjamin A. Brinson and DeWitt C. Brinson of New Bern; sister Cynthia Lupton Delamar (Paul) of Oriental; and three grandchildren Leah, Jacob and Matthew Given.
A funeral will be held 1:00 pm Friday, September 25 at Cotten Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
