Alma Adele Sinclair passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Cherry Point Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Havelock, North Carolina. She was 102. Born June 15, 1915, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Anna Alma Anacker and George Raleigh Lane. She enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Robert L. Sinclair. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Robert L. Sinclair II and Ruth Sinclair of New Bern, North Carolina, and grandchildren Alison Sinclair of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Jacob Sinclair of San Diego, California.
Throughout her 102 years, and as part of The Greatest Generation, Adele witnessed significant world events and amazing advancements in technology. She was born during WWI; married a veteran of the D-Day Omaha Beach Landing of WWII; endured The Great Depression; supported her son during his military service in the Vietnam War; witnessed the inventions of television, personal computers, and cell phones; grieved the loss of her four siblings; embraced her role as a wonderful Mom and Mom-in-law; and showered love and wisdom upon her grandchildren. And through all her years, Adele shared her amazing kindness and quick wit, and brought joy to all who had the privilege to know and love her.
