Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Dow) Attallah, she graduated from New Bedford High School in 1951 and was a lifelong area resident.
Yvonne worked as an officer manager for Brodeur Machine Co. for 58 years before retiring. She was a member of the Reservation Golf Club from 1966-2010, the Wonderbowl Municipal League, the Acushnet Senior’s Pitch League and Our Lady of Purgatory 30/30 Club. She was an avid sports fan that loved to watch college basketball games, golf tournaments, Red Sox and Patriots games. Yvonne and her husband owned and operated Dave’s Dairy Bar in New Bedford and were long time sponsors of the Whaling City League Baseball Team Dave’s.
She is survived by two sisters: Nazara Drouin and her husband Raymond of New Bedford and Jeanette Humenuk and her husband John of Easton; a dear friend, Bette Winn; and a loving family, including several nieces and nephews: Cheryl Hudon, Karyn Bishop, Brian Humenuk, Linda, George Jr., Robert and Mark Morad, Raymond Drouin, Jr. and Anne Manley; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alfred Attallah, Emily Cesolini and Florence Morad.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 9AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10AM at Our Lady of Purgatory Maronite Eastern Catholic Church, 11 Franklin Street., New Bedford.
