Born in Azores, Portugal, a son of Maria (Medeiros) Oliveira of New Bedford and the late Ernesto Oliveira, he was a long time resident of New Bedford. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was later employed as a Steam Engineer and a pipefitter for more than 50 years and retired in 2015 from the Acushnet Company-Pricex.
Vic loved his family dearly; he enjoyed traveling. He loved Savannah, GA and always enjoyed the trips he and Ana would make to visit his daughter Vickie and their trips to Canada to visit family. Vic was an avid firearms enthusiast, at one point owned, and formerly operated a firearms store in Germany. He loved to fish and boat and attend game dinners.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Vickie Oliveira-Harris and her husband James
Larry of GA and Victor Oliveira of New Bedford; a grandchild, Colton J. Harris and his wife Casey and their daughter Dani of GA; his siblings, Joseph Oliveira and Helena Tavares of Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Tony Oliveira and Fatima DaCosta.
