Sheila M. (Corr) Cronk, 80, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a period of declining health. She was the wife of Oliver F. Cronk, Jr. to whom she was married since 1989.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Edna (Wood) Corr.
Mrs. Cronk was the first female letter carrier in North Attleboro. She worked for the US Postal Service for 17 years. Following retirement, she cared for children in her home.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Bingo and watching reality TV.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Jo-Ann Taylor and David Neal and his wife Onny; her step-children, Lu-Ann Cronk and Joseph Cronk Schiavi and his wife Stephanie; her sisters, Ann Kacharo, Brenda Dowdell, and Millie Thurber; her grandchildren, Kelly Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Brianna Lucier, Nicole Sealy and Jasmine Cronk; her great-grandchildren, Vera and Adam Sealy; and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 4-6pm with a Funeral Service at 6pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society and/or The American Lung Association.
