Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Helen (Hamlin) Rapoza, she was a graduate of New Bedford High School. Prior to her retirement, she was an attendant at Bush Cleaners.
Sandy loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, traveling with Rodney to California and Florida. She also enjoyed their trips to Mohegan Sun.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Marie Moniz and her husband Kevin of Fairhaven and Paul Dextraze of New Bedford; her step-children, James Rego of TN and Richard Rego of Canada; her sister, Helen "Pinky" Dennen of Rehoboth; and her 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in the care of the Rock Funeral Home.
