Robert W. Whitehead

Robert “Bob” W. Whitehead, 77, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Morris) Whitehead and thirteen year companion of the late Rita Taber.

Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Elmer and Irene (Banicki) Whitehead he was a lifelong area resident.

Bob served in the United States Navy and later worked various jobs around the City. He was a bartender and also worked at Brittany Dyeing and Print. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the casinos, watching YouTube scratch ticket videos, listening to WBSM, watching airplanes take off at the airport, the Price is Right, and playing KENO.

He is survived by a son, Thomas W. Whitehead of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Samantha Drolet of New Bedford and Thomas W. Whitehead, Jr. of Dartmouth and Amanda Blais; great grandchildren, Everleigh Whitehead, Kevin Gilmour, and Adriana Drolet; and a sister, Janice Remalad of New Bedford. He was the brother of the late Melvin Whitehead.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 351 Elm St., Dartmouth, MA 02748.
