Muriel E. Guay

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Adelard and Rita (Fortin) Marois, she was a longtime resident of the city, a graduate of St. Anthony’s School Class of 1964. Muriel received her nursing degree from Laboure College in Milton, MA. She was a Registered Nurse for 29 years at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Muriel is survived by her three children: Brian Guay and his wife Kimberly, Kenneth Guay and his wife Heather of Fairhaven and Michelle Pequita and her husband Eric of New Bedford; four grandchildren Amanda Guay, Christopher Messier, Aiden Guay and Logan Guay; two great-grandchildren Jarien and Jaryana Cardenas; her longtime companion of 20 years Robert Pitta of New Bedford; a brother Donald Marois of Groveland, FL; her former husband Ronald Guay of New Bedford and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Muriel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Muriel was an extremely giving and thoughtful person with a loving and generous heart. She will be missed by many.
