Maurice “Moe” L. Pepin, 81, of Acushnet passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marie-Jeanne (Maillet) Pepin with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Albert and Jeannette F. (Gauttier) Pepin he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven.
Moe started his career working at Pepin Service Station. He served in the United States Coast Guard and he later worked as a mechanic foreman for the Massachusetts State Police for 30 years. Moe also worked at Rock Funeral Home as a funeral attendant for several years.
In his spare time, he loved to golf and enjoyed traveling. Moe was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason A. Pepin and his wife Shirley of Rochester; three brothers, Roger Pepin and his wife Barbara of Mattapoisett, Robert Pepin of Acushnet, and Richard Pepin and his wife Dianna of DeBary, FL; a sister, Anita Poitras and her husband Michael of Acushnet. He was the brother of the late Claudia Lillian Pepin.
His visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Services are under the direction of ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
