Louis J. Silva, a remarkable young man who battled his illness almost all of his 50 years on this earth.  Yet he managed to touch so many lives and never lost his sense of humor.  To those of us who knew him, our hearts are broken at his loss but know that he is no longer suffering and that he resides with his heavenly Father in joy and peace.  We are fortunate for having had the opportunity to be part of his life.
Much credit and admiration are due to his parents Louis and Lucy for their many years of dedication and care of Louie.  They have endured countless peaks and valleys of emotion, countless trips to doctors and overnight stays at hospitals. Their worries and parental sacrifices have been unimaginable.
As a child, it must have been difficult for Louie’s older sister Christine as he demanded much of his parent’s focus and attention.   Yet she remained loving and protective of her brother and has been of increased assistance to her parents and brother in her adult years.
May God bless and comfort this family in the knowledge that they have fought the good fight and that they will all be reunited with Louie again someday in heaven.

Louie was truly a walking miracle from God.  We knew Louie for along time. He always had a smile and never complained. 
When we were together with him, he loved to joke and make us laugh. 
Louie was very special to us. He inspired everyone that came in contact with him.  He loved the Lord. 
We all should learn from his example of living life with joy.  Louie now is walking the streets of gold with Jesus. We have been totally blessed to have known Louie in our lives. 
We will see you again one day in glory.

My deep condolences to Lou's family. He was Soo funny with his sayings ( put an egg in your shoe and beat it) lol he always had a good one. I know he's at peace in God's presence,  he will be missed here. Til we all meet again. His life was a true testimony of God's goodness!

I remember Louie well. He was a constant sweet presence at church. I loved his jokes and his positivity. My heart and prayers go out to the Silvas.

The impact of Louis' 50 years on this side cannot be understated in the lives of those who knew him or got to know him through his long illness.  The reason I am born-again, and a minister today is a result of his life.  He never complained that the universe, or life or God was unfair.  To my knowledge, he never asked "why me?".  He was always happy and content with the small pleasures of life like a Me & Ed's linguica pizza or fish and chips. He was a walking miracle.  He made more miraculous recoveries than a cat with nine lives.  It's easy to question why not complete restoration but more challenging to trust that God had a plan all along.  When I look at the many lives that Louis' story touched, at least one Church that arguably wouldn't exist and the faith that Louis inspired, it becomes a little clearer and easier.  To his amazing parents Lou and Lucy Silva, I offer my profound sympathies and prayers.  You navigated decades of impossible situations and choices with dignity and grace. To my Aunt in specific, you were beyond amazing as Louis' primary caregiver for decades and demonstrated amazing patience and love in his care.  To my cousin Christine, Louis loving sister, who has been so helpful with several items of Louis care, I also send my deepest sympathies.   If heaven has the internet (jk) and Louis can somehow see this, I am glad your battle is over, missing you has just begun for us.  We are forever touched by your life and love you deeply. Thank you for "enduring hardness like a good soldier" and without complaint.  I have no doubts that when you transitioned into the arms of a loving and waiting Savior your ears heard perfectly the words "well done, thou good and faithful servant".  RIP Little Louis.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I have the fondest memories of Louis from our childhood. He was the sweetest man and I cannot imagine the void he leaves in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know and love him. Sending your family lots of love, peace and comfort.
