Lorraine B. Richard

Lorraine B. (Boucher) Richard, age 84, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in New Bedford December 7, 1927 she was the wife of the late Rene Richard and the daughter of the late Armand and Eva (Labrecque) Boucher.

Lorraine was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Educated in the New Bedford School system she was retired from Fernandes Super Market where she worked as a cashier and from waitressing at Ma’s Donuts in New Bedford. She enjoyed being a volunteer at the Oaks Nursing Home, gardening, playing Bingo, knitting, bowling, listening to music and dancing.

She is survived by her 3 sons, Robert R. Richard and his wife Linda of Berkley, Gerry Richard and his wife Carol of Lakeville, Wayne E. Richard of Ormond Beach, FL and her devoted and loving companion Walter Rogers of New Bedford. She is grandmother of 4, and great grandmother of 6 and Aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Pauline Pelletier and Arthur Boucher.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 6 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of her life at the church. In lieu of flowers, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or the charity of your choice. Burial is private. Arrangements are in the care of ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA.
