Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Medeiros) Oliveira, she had resided in Acushnet and New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1959 and attended Southeastern Massachusetts University, Bristol Community College and Fisher College.
Mrs. Silva had worked as a medical transcriptionist at St. Luke’s Hospital for 12 years and for Dr. Rosen and Dr. Keith.
Lillian enjoyed watching classic movies, crossword puzzles and stayed current with all of the latest Hollywood news. She loved eating her favorite foods, especially clam boils. She volunteered with the foster grandparent program, assisting teachers and reading to grade schoolers. Most of all, her family meant the world to her and she cherished each and every moment shared together.
Her family includes four children, Elizabeth “Betty” Jefferds of New Bedford, Dawn Marie Dorman and husband Mark of Somerset, David R. Silva of New Bedford and Douglas Silva and wife Lori of Queensbury, NY; a brother, William F. Oliveira and wife Darlene of Wareham; seven grandchildren, Adam Jefferds of New Bedford, Ethan Jefferds and wife Adriana of E. Providence, Keegan Dorman of Somerset, Dean Silva of NY, Zachary Silva of Fall River, Amy Silva of Queensbury, NY and Sarah Dorman of Somerset; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Gabriel Jefferds of E. Providence; and her niece and godchild, Anne Marie Oliveira of N. Carolina. She was predeceased by her brother, John J. Oliveira.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
