Joseph L. Richard, 88, of New Bedford passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette (Dube) Richard with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Noé and Carmilia (Marcotte) Richard he was a lifelong city resident.
Mr. Richard worked as an inspector at Acushnet Rubber Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Jeffrey of New Bedford; two sons, Mark Richard of Dartmouth and Roger Richard of NJ; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the last of his 8 siblings to pass away.
His family will welcome family and friends this morning, Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford from 9-10 am followed by a funeral mass at 10 am.
