Jose M. Da Costa

Born in Salga, Sao Miguel, Azores, he came to the United States in 1975 and settled in New Bedford.

While living in Portugal, Mr. Da Costa was proud to serve the people of his hometown as the owner and driver of his taxi business.

He was very proud of his grapevine and loved spending time with his family and Buddy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Maria Jose Correia and husband Jose F. of New Bedford, Nelia De Melo and husband Jaime of Canada, Teresa Vafaee and husband Sohrab of New Bedford and Paul Jose Da Costa and fiancée Kerrie Menard of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Ricky, Mark, Kevin, Karen, Dariush and Victoria; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 8 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday 4-8 pm.
