Jose “Joe” F. Bizarro, 65, of North Dartmouth, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved companion of Nancy Adriano for the past 23 years.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Francisco de Sousa Bizarro and Deolinda (Frias) Bizarro, he came to the United States in 1978.
Joe was the owner of Bizarro’s Auto Body Sales and Service in New Bedford.
Joe enjoyed fishing, trips to the casinos, cruising, dining out, cowboy and comedy movies and playing the accordion and guitar. He was a sports fan who especially enjoyed car racing, cycling and the New England Patriots. He loved entertaining and gatherings with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his beloved companion Nancy is a son, Steven Bizarro and his girlfriend Brittney of Fairhaven; his siblings, Cesar Bizarro and wife Lucy of New Bedford, Amario Bizarro and wife Filomena and Madalena Almeida and husband Joao all of Bermuda, Rui Bizarro and wife Lucy of Dartmouth and Zita Soares and husband Joe of Georgia; a special cousin, Joao Teles and wife Lourdes of Taunton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 9AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial is private. Visiting hours Monday 5-8PM.
