Born in Acushnet, a daughter of Arthur and Alice (Remillard) Bergeron she was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Souza worked as a waitress in The Hanger’s Café and G&S Pizza. She enjoyed being active at the community center and she loved the beach and the sun.
She is survived by a son, David Souza and his wife Anita of Acushnet; a granddaughter, Donna Melchionno of Taunton; a great granddaughter, Karysa Britton of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Bruce Souza.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 41 Harding Road, Fairhaven, MA. Arrangements are by the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. For online tribute www.rock-funeralhome.com
