He was born on October 13, 1939 in Sao Miguel, Acores to the late Manuel and Rosa (Andrade) Pimentel.
Jaime proudly served in the Portuguese Army shortly before marrying his wife of 57 years, Rosa (Amaral) Pimentel, later immigrating to New Bedford in 1971 where he remained a lifelong resident.
Jaime was a communicant of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church. He was an avid Benfica fan and loved tending to his garden. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosa; his three children: daughter Isabel (Pimentel) Haghighat, husband Hossein; sons, Luis Pimentel, wife Nancy (Oliveira), and Michael Pimentel, wife Lisa (Girouard); five grandchildren, Darius and Marina Haghighat, Lucas, Meagan, and Matthew Pimentel; brothers, Gilbert (Maria), Antonio (Ernestina), Elisio (Rosa), Miguel (Carol), Jeremias and Luis Pimentel; sister Fatima Viana (Luis); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was the brother of the late Jose Pimentel.
His funeral will be Monday, September 12, 2022 at 9 a.m. from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
