Jaime A. Amaral

Born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Manuel D’ Amaral and Isabel Ventura (Alves) Amaral, he came to the United States in 1978 and settled in New Bedford.

Mr. Amaral had worked as a skilled painter for over 40 years.

Jaime was a soccer fan and played in younger years. He was a member of Casa DO Benfica in New Bedford and enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing dominos and spending time at the beach. Most of all, Jaime loved being with family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife are his children, Anabela Amaral, Peter Amaral and Justin Amaral all of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Nora Lynn Amaral; a brother, Fernando Amaral; three sisters, Osvalda Santos, Maria Pereira and Lucia Da Costa all of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Amaral.

His Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 9:30am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
