Born in Fairhaven, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Eva R. (Harding) Akin.
Ida worked as a stitcher for Grinnell Pajamas and a store clerk for I.G.A. in Wareham. She was former state champion of Mass. Woman’s Bowling Assoc. 1966. Family was very important to Ida and she loved spending time with her grandchildren, going out to eat, attending their sporting events, gardening, crafts and painting. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving son, Dennis R. Raymond and his wife Diane of New Bedford; a sister, Marjorie Almeida of FL; four grandchildren, Marilyn Smith and her husband Rick, Karen Raymond and her companion Bob Menard, Douglas Raymond and his wife Sarah, and Brian Raymond and his wife Kristin; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Shawna, Avery and Julia Raymond; four great-great grandchildren, Landon, Mackenzie, Leia and Emilia, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late William R. Raymond and sister of the late Thomas Akin, Charles Akin, Archie Akin, Raymond Akin, Herbert Jenney, Anna Martel, Barbara Gifford and Lillian Alves.
