He lived in New Bedford, and Acushnet most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Harold had retired in 1987 from Chamberlain Manufacturing as a security guard. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Acushnet, MA and the VFW. Harold enjoyed rooting for the Red Sox, woodworking and watching westerns. He had moved from New Bedford in 2017.
Survivors include his children, Kathleen Andrade (David) of The Villages, FL and Phillip Martin of Dartmouth, MA; grandchildren Cheryl Soares (Roy), Lisa Leonor (Desean Leaphart), Kimberly Azevedo (Jaime), Tracy Benson, Eric, Joshua and Jesse Martin; step-grandson, Matthew Young; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lydia, in 2011, 10 siblings and his step-granddaughter, Tammy Young.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. His funeral service will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 9am at the ROCK Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main Street, Acushnet.
