Elaine Ann Johnson

Elaine A. (Serra) Johnson, 80, of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Care One New Bedford. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman E. Johnson, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Georgina (Oliveira) Serra.

Elaine was a graduate of New Bedford High School and worked for the Department of Developmental Services for many years. She took great pride in her job, taking care of people, and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Elaine enjoyed camping, music, photography and watercolor painting in her spare time. She touched many hearts, and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving children, Norman Eric Johnson of New Bedford, and Peter Aaron Johnson and his wife Angela of New Bedford; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Nicki Ann Johnson, and the sister of the late Richard Serra.
