Dave was a lifelong Middleboro resident and was educated in the Middleboro school system. Following high school, he entered the United States Army and served his country for 42 years before his retirement. He was an avid Patriots fan, never missing a game. During football season, family life was planned around what time the game started. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by a grandson, Michael Perkins; two brothers, Robert and Harold Perkins and two sisters, Marjorie Perkins and Virginia Nourse.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sue Perkins, a daughter, Beth Perkins; a son, David S. Perkins, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Ella Wilber; five grandchildren, David S. Perkins, III, who helped care for him through his transition, Brittany Perkins, Ty Grannum, Kaitlyn Perkins, Madison Perkins and their mother, Lori Egan; two sisters, Janise Caron and Nancy Pink (Lonnie); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Lakeville Church of the Nazarene, 180 Main St., Lakeville, MA. A funeral service will follow in the church at 11:30 AM. A Committal Service with military honors will be held at the Cemetery at the Green in Middleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice.
