Claudette E. Guillette Souza

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Aldie and Marie B. (Fortier) Guillette, she had resided in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Acushnet over a year ago. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1955. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church, New Bedford.

Mrs. Souza had worked as the administrator for the Town of Fairhaven Retirement Board for many years until her retirement. She also supervised the Bingo nights at St. Lawrence Church for over 15 years.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Claudette loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She was a wonderful giving person and always ready to include everyone, putting others before herself. She enjoyed spending every moment she had with her grandchildren exhibiting pride in every one of their milestones. She also loved her scratch tickets and watching Lifetime movies. She was Memere to everyone who knew her.

Her family includes her daughter, Pamela (Souza) Dziura and husband William of Lakeville; her son, Joseph Souza and wife Valerie of Acushnet; and grandchildren Jeff, Sandhya and Amanda Dziura and Zachary, Jacob and Emma Souza; her sister-in-law, Louise Guillette of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Laurent Guillette.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 10am at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
