Travis John Crady

Travis John Crady, age 43, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in New Pekin. Travis was born in New Albany to Rickie L. Crady and Diana C. (Riley) Crady. Travis was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 and worked as a plumber at All-Star Plumbing.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents; Donnie and Evelyn Crady, and Carl and Mildred Riley.

Travis is survived by his sister; Kristyal Crady, brother; Chadwick "Chad" Crady, and nieces and nephews; Adelynn Crady, Carl Hardy, Serenity Albertson, Maddox Snyder, Hadly Crady, Westlyn Crady, and Case Crady.

To know Travis was to love Travis. He was known as "Crazy Crady, Travi, or Squirrel Boone." He was hard-working, honest, thoughtful, caring, and a whole lot of crazy. "Yee Yee" was the sound that meant hold my beer and watch this. Travis was the life of the party with a chuckling laugh that he will forever be remembered for.

His soul was made with a passion for animals and nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, gardening, and grilling. Caring for his chickens and pets. He cherished his time with his family and friends. Travis loved being an uncle, his nieces and nephews always made his day brighter and some days more exciting. He loved helping them face their fears and also loved to see the reaction of his sister and brothers when they found out their kids were training to become the next Evel Knievel. Travis would yell, “They got this,” as the kids smiled, trusting Uncle Travis enough to show him how brave they were. One thing was for sure, they were going to get dirty and learn something new when Uncle Travis was around! His family was his world and caring for animals was his passion. At any given time he may have pulled a spider out of his pocket, had a raccoon on his shoulder, or convinced you to run to the post office for a package, only to find out it was a huge snake. You never knew what was coming next with Travis but you always knew it was going to be a wild adventure. He showed the world what the true meaning of a best friend meant (brother from another mother) he was blessed to have several and nothing could break that brotherhood they shared. He knew a lot of people and had many friends that he considered family.

Travis was tough as leather with a heart of gold. He touched many lives along his short journey here on earth and will be deeply missed by them all.

A Memorial Visitation for Travis will be held on December 21st, 2023 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service at 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:00 pm in the Kraft Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Travis's memory may be made to Floyd County Humane Society.
