Mildred Louise Wood

Mildred Louise Wood, age 92, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. The daughter of the late Herman and Matilda (Graf) Schad. Mildred was born on May 9, 1931, in New Albany, Indiana. She was married to the late C. Bernard Wood Sr. for 61 years before his passing in 2012. Mildred worked as an Administrative Assistant for the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation in the Vocational and Adult Education Office for 41-1/2 years until retirement.

Along with her parents and husband, Mildred is preceded in death by brothers, James, Herman “Snook”, Earl, Kenny, and Raymond; sisters, Mary and Lucille.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Charles Wood (Florence) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; and David Wood (Rebecca) of Georgetown, Indiana; along with a sister, Ruth Popp; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Mildred will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Edwardsville United Methodist Church, 4830 State Road 62, Georgetown, Indiana 47122. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:00 AM.
