Maurice "Jimmy" Ragains

MAURICE "JIMMY" RAGAINS, 56, died Thursday April 18th, 2013. Jimmy was born December 12th, 1956 in New Albany to the late Maurice and Ann Ragains. He was an automobile broker in Southern Indiana for many years and was always a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother Charles Merritt and Ann Ragains Merritt and brother Rick Ragains. Jimmy was a people person and a man who knew how to light up a room. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. His vibrance and love of life was contagious. His tenacious and loving personality made him an incredible dad, friend, brother and the ultimate salesman. Jimmy always had the deal and in the end made “the deal”. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who ever new him.

Survivors include his three children, Maurice “Justin” Ragains, Branden Ragains and Brittany Ragains; grandson, Andrew Ragains; sister, Karen Nifong and her husband, Dale; brothers, Don Ragains and his wife Brenda, Kevin Merritt, Steve Ragains and Tony Ragains; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 9:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday with burial to follow at Kays Chapel Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Indiana.
