Kathryn "Katie" (Pirtle) Wells

Kathryn "Katie" (Pirtle) Wells, age 65, of Greenville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 surrounded by her family. Katie was born November 6, 1958 in New Albany, IN to the late Knofel and Mary Rose Pirtle. She was the Senior Executive Assistant to the President at Baptist Floyd where she recently retired after 47 years of dedicated service to the hospital. After retirement Katie received the Administrative Excellence Award by the Indiana Hospital Association, but most of all she adored spending time with her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Pirtle, and mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Kenneth Wells. Katie is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Mike Wells, daughters, Andrea Wells (Travis Gardner), Abby McKinney (Ross), grandchildren, Payton Wells, Eamon and Eric McKinney, siblings, John Pirtle, Tony Pirtle (Debbie), Margaret Hersey (Darrick), Kathleen Fischer (Carl), Mary Arntz (Rick), Ann Paris (Don), Jan Birdwell (Jim) and Sheila Missi (Marvin), along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation for Kathryn "Katie" (Pirtle) will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, IN. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Chapel, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, IN.
