Funeral services for James Korte, 73, of Clarksville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Clarksville, with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Charlestown. He died, Monday Aug. 27, 2012, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Otisco, to the late Joseph and Lucille Lyons Korte. He was a 1958 graduate of Providence High School, was a retired employee of Sonoco Products Co. in New Albany, and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville.
Survivors include three children, Steve Korte and his wife, Denette, of Ramsey, Theresa Davis and her husband, Michael Sr., of Crossville, Tenn., and Tina Priddy, of Crossville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Derek, Brandon (U.S. Coast Guard), Michael Jr., Bradley, Jennifer, Ryan (U.S. Navy), and Cassie; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Newman and her husband, Chuck, and Charlotte Popp; sister-in-law, Jane Korte; six nieces; and five nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Korte, two brothers, Marion L. and Joseph D. Korte, and a brother-in-law, “Dub” Popp.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
