James "Jim" Clifford Embry

 Obituario de James "Jim" Clifford Embry
Jim was born in September of 1932 in Warren Co., Kentucky to Clifford Embry and Edna Dalton Embry. He was one of nine children and last survivor of his family. He attributed his longer life to playing sports and abstaining from tobacco/alcohol. His love of basketball began at Richardsville High School. He continued his great love when he attended Campbellsville College. Jim was a corporal in the Army and drove a tank during the Korean War. He was employed at Belknap Hardware in Louisville, KY and later was a Salesman for Belknap in Scottsburg, IN. He played softball and basketball and coached men’s and women’s teams in both during his lifetime at work and church. He also coached Scott Co. Little League. Jim was married to Joan McKinley for 33 years with whom he had two children – Pam (Levi) Embry Nigg of Jasper, IN and Philip (Robyn) Embry of Bedford, IN. They had five grandchildren: Matthew (Jeongyoun) Nigg of Carrollton, TX; Ben (McKenna) Embry of Bedford, IN; Rachel (Ben) Embry Brumfield of Winchester, IN; Sam Embry and Abby Embry. Blessed with two great grandchildren – Zeke Brumfield and Rebecca Embry. He later married Ann Horneman Embry and she preceded him in death in 2018. They enjoyed their blessed time between the farm in Scottsburg, IN and spending winters in Winter Haven, FL. They ended up living in Clarksville, IN. Jim moved to Northwood Retirement Home in Jasper, IN where he spent the last two months of his time on this earth. He lived a full life until a brain bleed took him home in one short day, Jan. 11th, 2024. Please make any donation to your local children’s sport groups or local church. There will be no service.
