Gene Armstrong

Harlan E. “Gene” Armstrong, 76, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at his home. He was born August 22, 1937 in Leitchfield, Kentucky to the late Justice and Lucy (Watson) Armstrong. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Loman) Armstrong in 2005 and a grandchild. He retired from Pillsbury after 39 years. He is survived by his children, Stephen E. Armstrong and wife Lois, Jimmy L. Armstong and wife Virginia, and Tammy L. Martin and husband Paul who along with George Martin, Wendy Scalf, Russell Martin, Steve Martin became Gene’s step-children when he married Linda, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 9:00 am Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
