Gary F. Coffey

Gary was born December 1, 1949 in Glasgow, KY to Richard H. and the late Joyce Asbury. He formerly worked at the Hillerich & Bradsby Company in Louisville. Gary loved people and especially his family and he never met a stranger. He was an avid U.K. basketball fan, loved fishing, bowling, movies and oldies music. Gary especially loved listening to "His Boys" the Beatles and Elvis.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Asbury; and a brother, Clayton Asbury.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn "Kathy" L. Veleta Coffey; children, Tammy Coffey, Tina Tompkins (Pat) and Mickey Coffey; former wife, Donna Knight ; father, Richard H. Coffey (Lorine); two grandchildren, Shawn and Autumn Tompkins all of Louisville; two sisters, Colleen Jeffries (Jim) of Somerset, KY and Joni Coffey of Illinois; and four brothers, Clinton "Kenny" Asbury (Sharon) of Hardyville, KY, Ashley Coffey (Phyllis) of Louisville, Michael Coffey of Covington, IN, and Timmy Coffey of Louisville.

Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday December 17, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana, with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
