Danny Dale Emily

DANNY DALE EMILY, 68, passed away July 22, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Edward and Maxine Simcox Emily, Danny was born January 12, 1948 in New Albany. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and returned to serve as a Floyd County Police Officer for 36 years. He achieved the rank of Chief, retired as a Lieutenant, and was Police Officer of the Year in 2003. Danny was also a 14th Degree Mason, member of the Evansville Scottish Rite, American Legion Post 28, Forty and Eight Voiture 1250, and

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evelyn Gaye (Burgenheim) Emily; daughter, Angie Yellina (Tom); son, David Emily (Tabitha); grandchildren, George Emily and Drew and Emily Yellina; and his faithful canine companions, Buddy and Sissy.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 10:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. His Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with entombment and military honors to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
