Carolyn L. Ferguson, age 76, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Carolyn was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 26, 1946, to the late Louis and Helen Cook Murphy. She retired from Charlestown Place at New Albany (formerly Providence Healthcare) and she also retired from Kmart in Clarksville. Her passion in life was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene "Duke" R. Ferguson; two sisters, Pat Wright and Alice Ruoff.
Carolyn is survived by two sons, Gene R. Ferguson Jr. (Nancy) and Brian K. Ferguson (Melissa); grandchildren, Joshua Ferguson, Morgan Ferguson and Jacob Ferguson; step-grandchildren, Krista Hammon (Justin), Dustin Nelson, Evan Nelson (Sydney), Kayla Butt, Damon Nelson (Sarah) and Kelsey Ammons (C.J.); great grandchildren, Shannon, Wabisuke, Brook, Emily, Adaline, Oliver and August; siblings, Dilla Lopp (Sonny), Donna Naville (Ray) and Mike Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Carolyn will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral service will be Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
