Abilene Cox, 80, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away March 21, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd. She was born on January 19, 1941 in Courtland, Alabama to the late Rufus and Martha Young Cooper. She was a member of Faith Assembly Church. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Abby loved to cook for her family and was especially known for her chicken and dumplings and fried pies.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, William Edward "Bubby" Cox; and siblings, Christine Cooper, James Cooper, Cecil Cooper, Tom Cooper and Corrine North.
Abilene is survived by her husband of 63 years, William "Bill" Cox; three children, Pamela (Steven) Horton, Mark (Tillie) Cox, Rebecca (Aaron) Davis; grandchildren, Michael Horton, Matthew (Rebeca) Horton, Marc (Shelby) Cisneros, Marlana Davis, Jacob (Hannah) Horton, Brandon Cox, Marc Davis and Isaiah Cox; great-grandchildren, Titus Horton, Levi Horton, Lydia Horton, Sadie Cisneros and Naomi Horton; a twin sister, Maxine Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana and from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Faith Assembly Church, 1715 Old Potters Lane, Clarksville, Indiana. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her church with burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
